Effingham Sunrise Rotary has announced “Red, White & Boo…Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday” as the theme for this year’s Halloween Parade. The parade will take place Sunday, October 25, beginning at 2 p.m.
Millie Lange and Greg Sapp, who are retiring from WXEF/WKJT, will serve as Parade Marshals.
Parade participants should assemble between noon and 1 p.m. along Maple Street between Temple and Evergreen Avenues. A $20 entry fee applies to all entries, with veterans, school groups and emergency vehicles participating at no charge. Proceeds from entry fees will benefit local nonprofit organizations.
Groups, organizations, businesses, and individuals interested in participating are asked to complete an entry form. Entry forms are available at West & Company and the Effingham County Chamber office. Forms are also available on the Chamber’s website calendar ( EffinghamCountyChamber.com/events ) or on the Effingham Sunrise Rotary Facebook page ( @EffinghamIllinoisSunriseRotary ).
Completed forms may be mailed to Halloween Parade, Attn: Nathan Earnest, 501 E. Evergreen Ave., Effingham, IL 62401, or dropped off at the Effingham County Chamber, 903 N. Keller Drive.
The deadline to submit parade entries is Friday, October 16.
