An eight-year prison sentence has been given a local man.
33-year-old Trenton Morrison of Effingham was sentenced on a charge of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Morrison was arrested in February of 2025.
A methamphetamine delivery charge was dismissed as part of a negotiated plea. Morrison was also earlier serving a parole warrant from the Department of Corrections.
Morrison was arrested by Altamont police and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
