Effingham Sunrise and Noon Rotary Clubs this week welcomed LCMS missionary Britt Odemba, who shared about her missionary work in Kenya and the growth of Project 24/Christ’s Care for Children: Kenya. Members learned how Britt’s work has evolved since she began serving in Kenya in 2013, including the program’s nine boarding facilities serving hundreds of students, individual child sponsorships, and its expansion into Tanzania with a children’s home serving children with albinism.
Britt journeyed to Kenya for missions work, then fell in love with the country, its people, and the man who became her husband. She and her husband have a son and daughter.
Kevin Miller, who has journeyed to Kenya, served as Morning Club program chairman, while Norbert Soltwedel, who was Miller’s traveling companion and is now hosting the Odembas during their visit to the Effingham area, chaired the Noon Club presentation.
