Another busy day is in store at the 82nd Effingham County Fair.
The Miss Effingham County Fair Queen Pageant and Little Miss Pageant is tonight at 7pm. This year’s contestants are Haydyn Baker, daughter of Kara and Kristopher Curtis; Korina Hecht, daughter of Tim and Jennifer Hecht; Lily Hardiek, daughter of Troy and Laura Hardiek; Marah Kirk, daughter of JP and Jennifer Kirk; Alisyn Kollman, daughter of Andy Kollman and Jody Kollman; Bekka Bloom, daughter of Erik and Katie Bloom; Olivia Wermert, daughter of Ryan and Brittany Wermert; and Elle Keller, daughter of Jodi and Chris Keller.
The new queen will be crowned by 2025 Miss Effingham County Fair and 2026 Miss Illinois County Fair Krista Phillips.
Also today: seven heats of Illinois Standard Bred Racing with a post time of 12 noon on KJ Country 102.3; Ryan Craig on the free stage at 5pm; and opening night of Luehr’s Carnival at 6pm with a wrist band night.
As far as activity in the barns: dairy goat weigh-in and check-in at 8am; 4-H and junior dairy goat show at 9am; the junior sheep show at 2pm; dairy cattle check-in at 3pm; rabbit and pygmy goat check-in from 4-7pm; and the junior dog show at 4pm. A reminder that Emma Beckman will share 4-H judging results today at 8:45am on KJ Country 102.3.
The open show schedule will include Class B dairy cattle check-in at 3pm.
