The Teutopolis Village Board discussed an intergovernmental Tax Increment Financing agreement with the Teutopolis Unit #50 school board.
At the meeting earlier this month, the village board agreed on $75,000 for the school district the first year, with the amount increasing by $50,000 in each of the following two years.
At their meeting this week, the school board discussed the agreement, but did not vote on it.
The village board also discussed a public hearing to consider a redevelopment plan and project for the South Smith Street TIF redevelopment project area. This would be a third TIF district for Teutopolis, on the west edge of the village and south across the CSX Railroad tracks. The TIF Joint Review Board is scheduled to meet at 7pm on July 30 to review the plan, then a public hearing on the plan is set for August 2 at 6pm.
The Board also purchased replacement water meters at the high school, the fire department, 3Z Printing, and the junior high school. Also approved was a Teutopolis Civic Club plan for an Oktoberfest event on September 26 that will run until midnight rather than 11pm. Board members also settled with a firm for $845.09 for papers, and approved Village Board President David Repking signing letters of engagement from Kemper CPA Group for audit work for three years.
The Board voted to replace a camera on the west side of the village hall and set up a new camera recorder and app. It was also agreed to do an archaeological survey of the land that the sludge will be distributed on; to move $14,450 from gaming money market to general checking to pay bills for a new digital sign; to approve a redevelopment agreement with J.B. Esker and Sons; and to pass an ordinance authorizing the lease of real estate next to the sewage lagoon, the farm lease with John B. Meyer for 2027 and 2028.
