The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) issued a disaster declaration for Effingham County on Friday July 10. This means that homeowners, residents, and small businesses in Effingham County, that were affected by the tornado occurring on June 17, can apply for low-interest federal disaster loans.
A Disaster Loan Outreach Center with specialists from the SBA is being planned and will be launched shortly. In-person specialists will be available to help affected residents, homeowners, and business owners fill out disaster loan applications.
More information on the declaration and a link to a Fact Sheet is available here: https://lending.sba.gov/search-disaster/?disaster=IL-20028
The declaration also covers Coles, and the contiguous counties of Clark, Clay, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Fayette, Jasper, Moultrie, Shelby.
