A Shobonier man has been given a lengthy prison sentence for a sexual assault.
42-year-old Timothy Dubois Jr. had been found guilty in Madison County in May of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, aggravated kidnapping, and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. Dubois will serve a minimum of 68 years in prison.
The victim was abducted in November of 2022 from a coffee shop parking lot in Collinsville. Dubois got into the victim’s car armed with a large knife and ordered her to drive to a residential area in Troy, where Dubois sexually assaulted her. He then drove the victim back to the Collinsville business district, put a coat over the victim’s head, ordered her to count to 100, and fled.
A host of agencies including Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Vandalia Police Department assisted Collinsville in the investigation.
