(EFFINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL FFA ADVISOR TY TOTTEN WAS ON HAND FOR WEDNESDAY’S ROTARY PEACE POLE DEDICATION, ALONG WITH EHS FFA MEMBERS LOGAN ROEDL AND KYNDAL FEARDAY)
One of the worldwide goals of Rotary International is promoting peace.
A committee of the Effingham Noon Rotary Club worked for several months with Effingham High School FFA Advisor Ty Totten and members of the FFA Chapter to create Rotary Peace Poles.
The grant-funded poles will be located at Lake Land College’s Effingham Technology Center, along with Effingham Public Library, and the Rotary Pavilion at Community Park.

A ceremony took place July 8 at the library for a formal dedication. Members of the Noon and Sunrise Rotary clubs, along with Totten and two FFA chapter members were on hand. Members of the Rotary committee that worked on the project spoke, as did Totten.
The theme of the peace pole is “May Peace Prevail On Earth”.
Sunrise Rotary member Holly Bray led those gathered on guitar with a rendition of “Let There Be Peace on Earth”.
