Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in Lake Mattoon.
The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 is assisting the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office with the death investigation. The sheriff’s office requested ISP DCI on Sunday to assist with the investigation.
State Police stated, “To protect the integrity of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time.”
