Dieterich school board members heard input this month on the boys high school basketball program, specifically Head Coach Brent Bohnhoff.
One person shared concerns with the program, while eight people spoke in support of Bohnhoff.
The Board approved an amended budget for the current fiscal year. Expenditures and revenues were both increased. The amendments resulted in an expected deficit of $193,505, due to the costs of the current roof/solar/tuckpointing project. Also, insurance coverage was renewed, at a lower cost for workers compensation, a higher cost for health insurance, and a higher limit for cyber insurance.
$1.5 million was abated from the working cash fund to the operations and maintenance fund to cover costs related to the ongoing facility project. The Board granted the support staff a 5.75% pay increase for the coming school year, and elementary principal Josh Benefiel was granted a 3.5% salary increase. Two older scoreboards were declared surplus property and will be sold by sealed bids. Also, the Board approved a change in the junior high Math curriculum.
In personnel moves, the Dieterich board accepted resignations from Danielle Dolan as an aide, and from Felicia Swingler as a custodian. The Board hired Sara Egan, Tricia Ohnesorge and Cora Wente as aides, reassigned Selena Flach from part-time to full-time aide, hired Rylee Ruholl and Haezel Niemeyer as student workers, and approved Kayla Kocher as a student teacher in the elementary school for the fall semester.
