Effingham city police arrested an Altamont man Tuesday on a series of counts.
Shawn M. Wolff was arrested on charges including residential burglary, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, burglary, theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal damage to property.
Effingham City Police Chief Kurt Davis said Wolff was in a local house when the theft occurred, leading to the residential burglary count. Davis said there was damage done to the house, and said when police found Wolff back in the house, he allegedly had the drugs in his possession.
Wolff was still in custody at last report.
