 Two People Killed in Plane Crash in Idaho Earlier This Week, One w/Local Ties

Two people were killed Sunday morning in a plane crash near Empire, Nevada. There are area ties involved.

One of those killed was Ed Dickman, originally from the Altamont area. Dickman and companion Sherry Jones left from Reno, Nevada. About 40 minutes into their flight back to Sunrise Airpark near Boise, Idaho, their plane crashed and killed Dickman and Jones. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team found the plane about 7-1/2 miles southwest of Empire, Nevada.

Authorities formally released the identities of the two people killed on Wednesday.

Among the survivors in this area is Dickman’s brother-in-law, Ken Wohltman of Effingham and his sister, Donna Stine of the Altamont area.
