Dieterich school board members Monday received an update on the district’s current facilities project.
The roof replacement is 85% complete and full completion is expected by the middle of May. A solar layout will start about the same time, and the solar installation and tuckpointing will be completed this summer. Superintendent Cary Jackson said the project is currently ahead of schedule.
The Board approved the purchase of technology upgrades from Quality Network Solutions. The District will be replacing outdated servers and Chromebooks. The total purchase amount is $55,532.88.
In personnel moves, the Dieterich board accepted resignations from Brenda Bloemker as a custodian and from Carsen Funneman as junior high Scholar Bowl coach. Hirings approved included Dana Purcell as a substitute bus driver, Shanna Ambuehl as head junior high cross country coach, Kaitlyn Boerngen as assistant junior high girls basketball coach, Seth Hinson as head high school cross country coach and Addison Miller and Addi Huber as volunteers for junior high and high school cross country.
The Board reviewed a tentative amended budget for the current fiscal year, with final approval expected at the June meeting. An $850 library grant was accepted, and a facility use request from support staff employee Christina Ordner was approved to offer tutoring this summer. New uniforms for junior high volleyball and high school baseball were purchased, and a proposal for photography services was accepted.
