Teutopolis village board members Wednesday approved agreements to purchase property from Carl, Roger and Glen Waldhoff. The tract south of the CSX Railroad on the west edge of the village is expected to be the site of the village’s third Tax Increment Financing district.

The Board also finalized the pay for newly-hired police officer Doug Holman…$32.50/hour for the 90-day probation period and then $35/hour. There was also discussion, but no action on hiring a village foreman.

Board members purchased two easements on Elm Street for sidewalk improvements, and discussed work with the Illinois Commerce Commission on railroad crossing repairs at Pearl Street and at Oak Street. The Pearl crossing will be part of a larger street improvement project slated for next year, while the Oak project is part of the Safe Routes to School project.

The Board approved a TIF application from J.B. Esker and Sons to finance removal of underground fuel storage tanks, and awarded street maintenance material contracts to 3 Sisters Logistics and Heuerman Brothers Trucking.
