The end of the school year is drawing near. What with proms and graduation parties, the excitement can lead to poor choices with dangerous consequences.
Accordingly, the Dieterich Fire Department is partnering with the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, Rural Med EMS, and Air Evac Lifeteam to demonstrate a Mock Crash for Dieterich school students. Activities will begin around 1pm Friday.
Dieterich Fire Chief Ross Martin said while this will only be a mock crash, it will be as real as emergency service personnel can make it for students.
Martin asked that the public and Dieterich residents stay clear of the area around the pavilion, and leave the first responders and students plenty of room during the event.
