Effingham County 911 board members talked Tuesday with representatives of Global Technical Systems and other agencies about a lack of redundancy of the system’s tornado sirens.
Darin Deters of GTS said the system works fine with the National Weather Service, and if that is lost, telecommunicators could activate it manually.
In the meantime, work is to be done this week in hopes of making the system capable of redundancy.
