Teutopolis Community Unit School District #50 is inviting school parents and members of the Wooden Shoe community to participate in an upcoming public listening session focused on the future of district facilities.

This listening session is designed to gather input from parents, community members, and stakeholders as the district explores potential facility improvements and long-term planning for Teutopolis Grade School. No proposals or decisions have been made at this time. Instead, the goal is to listen, learn, and better understand what matters most to the community.

“This is not a presentation or a sales pitch,” said Superintendent Matt Sturgeon. “It’s an opportunity for our community to share their perspectives, priorities, and hopes for our students and our schools. The future of our district should reflect the values of the people we serve.”

The evening will include:

  • A brief welcome and overview of the purpose of the session
  • A guided opportunity to view current Grade School conditions and considerations
  • Open-ended discussion around future possibilities
  • A structured activity where participants can share what matters most for our kids

Participants will have multiple opportunities to share their thoughts and contribute to a collective understanding of community priorities.

The district encourages all parents, staff, alumni, and community members to attend and be part of the conversation.

“This is the beginning of an ongoing conversation,” Sturgeon added. “We are committed to continuing to listen and to sharing what we learn along the way.”
