Illinois State Police are conducting a death investigation in the Toledo area.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office contacted ISP Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 at 8:43pm Tuesday about the incident, reportedly involving a shooting.
The incident occurred in the 1100 block of County Road 1050 North in Toledo.
State police said that “to protect the integrity of the investigation”, there is no further information available at this time.
Cumberland County Coroner Jennifer Phipps said a man is dead and a woman was injured in the incident, but she can’t yet release the name of the man who is dead.
