Effingham Park Board commissioners Monday heard that work on Phase Two of the skate park at Hendelmeyer Park could be completed in the next several days. Park District Director Jeff Althoff said skaters are excited about the project being completed so that they can get back skating.
Althoff also reviewed signups for spring and summer sports. Spring Soccer numbers are ahead of last year at all three levels. Baseball, softball and Adventure Camp signups are well behind year-ago numbers, although Althoff expects better weather to lead to a turn-around in those numbers.
Althoff also reported that the District books are getting caught up.
The Board voted to move their meeting date to the second Monday at 5:30pm starting in April.
