One of the few contested races in the March 17th primary election is for 4th Judicial Circuit Judge.
The seat is an at-large judgeship, meaning the winner will be chosen by whoever gets the majority of votes cast throughout the circuit.
Judge Wes Gozia currently holds the seat. Gozia was appointed last year to fill the post until the November election following the retirement of Judge Douglas Jarman. He is from Marion County.
In addition to Gozia, three incumbent State’s Attorneys are vying for the Republican nomination. They are Effingham County State’s Attorney Aaron Jones, Fayette County State’s Attorney Brenda Mathis, and Clay County State’s Attorney Phillip Givens.
