The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has released some additional details on a crash involving two motorcycles on U.S. 50 a mile east of Odin early Saturday afternoon.

Initial information indicates a westbound cycle being driven by 23-year-old Hunter Cripe of Effingham was turning into a driveway when a cycle driven by 72-year-old Larry Harris of Perkins Street in Odin came from behind and struck the Cripe cycle in the side during the turn.   The two drivers along with 20-year-old Chastity Cripe, who was a passenger on her husband’s cycle, were all airlifted from the scene to St. Louis hospitals for treatment.

There were no witnesses to the crash.

Odin Firemen and United Medical Response assisted at the scene and helped get the three into the helicopters to be taken to St. Louis.
