Effingham Public Library board members reviewed the results of the annual fund campaign for 2025 and found that $19,000 was raised. The Board hopes to complete improvements to the Children’s Room.
There was also discussion of outdoor improvements. Possible new outdoor seating was discussed, as well as a proposal suggested by a local Rotary club for a peace pole.
The Board reviewed the terms of members ending in April. Those are Hank Stephens, Dennis Presley and Charlene Topel. Mayor Mike Schutzbach has to endorse the appointments. Board members also approved the fiscal year budget and approved the capital improvement plan, adding a generator to the plan.
