A medical emergency resulted in a death in Neoga over the weekend.
Thomas Hurlburt of Neoga died about 1:30pm Saturday. Cumberland County Coroner Jennifer Phipps said Hurlburt was driving on Walnut Avenue in Neoga when he suffered the medical emergency, which resulted in his death. Hurlburt’s vehicle ran off the roadway and struck the side of a house and a gas main, resulting in a leak. Ameren was called to the scene and shut off the gas line for repairs.
No one in the home was injured.
Crews cleared the scene at about 3pm.
