Neoga school board members Thursday chose their officers for the next term. That includes Chuck Campbell as board president, Shawn Finney as vice president, and Angie Worman as board secretary. The Board also swore in Finney and Gerald Hanfland to new terms and Misty Evans to her first term after they were elected in April.

Neoga students will get free meals for the coming school year. If they want a second meal, the charge will be $4 for lunch and $3 for breakfast. The Board also set pay rates for non-union employees for the coming school year.

Board members tabled insurance renewal rates until more information is available. Also, changes were made to the state maintenance grant to allow upgrades at the elementary school, work was approved on the elementary flooring, and miscellaneous tuckpointing was approved at the junior/senior high school.

Several personnel changes were approved. Seth James stepped down as junior high girls basketball and assistant high school girls basketball coach. James’ daughter, Samara, who recently resigned as coach at Cumberland, was hired as Neoga’s junior high girls basketball and assistant high school girls basketball coach. Seth James was then approved as a volunteer high school and junior high girls basketball coach. The Board also accepted Kirk Hacker’s resignation as junior high boys basketball coach and Christian Kessler’s resignation as junior high assistant baseball coach. Mark Jones was hired as junior high boys basketball coach and Paci McClure was hired as junior high assistant boys basketball coach.

The Board also hired Tim Hyde as a fulltime bus driver, hired high school summer teachers Amy Westjohn, Andrea Lindsey and Elaine Brandenburg; and hired junior high summer school teachers Amy Kepp and Steve McCann.
