The City of Altamont has been awarded a $1,600 – 100% matching grant from the Trees Forever Illinois Recover, Replant & Restore program.
A selection of trees is available to Altamont residents wanting a tree planted in the boulevard near their property. City crews will plant the trees. However, as part of the volunteer requirement of the grant, residents will be asked to assist in care of the tree until it is established.

Deadline for spring planting is May 22, 2025.
