MULBERRY GROVE — Brownstown/St. Elmo blanked Mulberry Grove, 6-0 in Friday high school baseball competition.
The Bombers took a 4-0 lead in the third inning then tallied single runs in the fifth and seventh.
BSE had seven hits led by Jayce Gillespie with two singles, a double and an RBI, Keelan Speagle with two singles and Calin Chandler with a single and two RBI.
Corey Hoopingarner went four innings on the mound, giving up two hits, one walk and striking out 10.
Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 5-10 and is back in action today at Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

At Tri-County
Neoga improved its record to 13-6 on the season by pounding Tri-County, 16-2 in five innings Saturday.
Neoga edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then led 3-1 after three. The Indians tacked on two runs in the fourth and ended the game in the fifth with 11 runs.
Colin Blazich had a single, home run and three RBI for Neoga while Garrett Ballinger had a single, double and two RBI. Malik Coy added two RBI. Cayden Hakman, Braylon Sparrow and Matt Propst added a single and an RBI each. Landry Becker, Landon Titus, Carter Young, Evan Fearday and Kanen White finished with an RBI each.
Blazich went four innings for the pitching victory. He gave up one run on one hit, four walks and struck out nine.
Neoga improved to 13-6 on the season.

Pleasant Plains had fewer hits but managed to claim a 3-1 victory over Teutopolis in Saturday play.
The Cardinal took a 2-0 opening inning lead and tacked on a single run in the third. T-town’s only run came in the sixth.
T-town had seven hits led by Dawson Hoene with a double, Jason Kreke with two singles and Henry Thompson with a single and an RBI.
Pleasant Plains was led by Trager Shultz with a single and two RBI. Cale Hatcher picked up the win on the mound. He went 5.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits, one walk and striking out two.
