Altamont defeated St. Anthony in softball action Thursday night 3-0. Altamont improves to 15-5 (5-2 in conference play). St. Anthony is now 9-9 (also 5-2 in the NTC).
Grace Lemke continued her super senior season from the center circle allowing just three Bulldog hits while striking out 17 and walking just three through 7 innings to pick up the win.
The Lady Indians scored a run in the second inning and two more in the bottom of the sixth in the shutout victory. Ella Nelson doubled, Sophia Long, Spike and Sophia Pearcy each had singles with and RBI each for Long and Sophia Pearcy.
St. Anthony picked up singles from Lilly Gannaway and Camille Wines. Ady Rios tripled but all were left stranded on the bases as Altamont played an errorless game defensively to go along with the strong pitching from Lemke.
Nancy Ruholl took the loss despite pitching a solid six innings allowing three runs, just one earned as the Bulldogs committed two errors, four hits and two walks while striking out 11.
