Robert Eugene Meyer, age 75, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois with a visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Ryan Meyer will be officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may go to St. Peter’s Lutheran School Tuition Assistance Program, or the donor’s choice. Bob was born on July 7, 1949, in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Vernon and Alma (Runge) Meyer. Bob enjoyed gardening, watching old westerns, cooking, and driving around crop checking. Bob was a U.S. Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired brick layer, having a thirty-year-long career. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Shawn (Sarah) Meyer of Nashville, Illinois and his daughter, Cassie (Troy) Kelsheimer of Seminole, Florida; brothers Marty (Rose) Meyer of Effingham and Randy (Vicki) Meyer of Bethany; and sister, Peggy (Bruce) Bowen of Vandalia; grandchildren: Finley, Norah, Presley, and William.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Alma Meyer; sister, Sue Fogler and niece, Leigh Ann Metzger.
