OBLONG — The Class 1A Oblong Volleyball Regional got underway Monday evening.
Two matches were contested. Lawrenceville ended Altamont’s season with 25-11, 25-18 scores.
Altamont was led by Avery Aldrich with three kills, Blaire Suckow with five digs, Adilyn Schnarre with six assists and Abigail Wills and Lydia Aldrich with one ace each.
In the second match, Oblong was a winner over Dieterich. The winners took the match 25-18, 25-15.
Lawrenceville and Oblong will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
In today’s matches, South Central faces Red Hill (Bridgeport) at 6 p.m. followed by Wayne City meeting Grayville at 7.

At Louisville
Cumberland picked up a first round victory in the Class 1A North Clay Regional Monday.
The Pirates won over Hutsonville/Palestine, 25-9, 25-18.
Cumberland will now face St. Elmo/Brownstown Wednesday at 6 p.m.
In tonight’s matches, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City meets Cisne at 6 p.m. followed by North Clay against Edwards County (Albion) at 7.
At Newton
In the Class 2A Newton Regional, Vandalia was a winner over Mount Carmel in the lone match of the evening, 25-20, 25-23.
Vandalia advances to face Newton today at 6 p.m. followed by Effingham taking on Salem at 7 p.m.
At Olney
In the Class 2A Olney Regional Monday, Robinson was a winner over Flora, 25-15, 25-12.
Robinson advances to meet Effingham St. Anthony today at 6 p.m. followed by Teutopolis facing Olney/Richland County at 7.
