Altamont High School traveled to Arthur Tuesday to play the Knights of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.

Both teams came out attacking each other, driving the ball repeatedly. The Indians had the slight edge as they controlled and possessed much of the entire first half.

With ALAH finally taking advantage of an Indians’ mistake, the Knights found the back of the net with just 10 minutes of playing time left in the first half for a 1-0 lead in favor of ALAH.

The second half showed a very tired ALAH coming off the whistle. Altamont continued pressure and force, taking shot after shot on the Knight’s keeper.

Around 13 minutes in, Mason Suey received the ball and drove it down the middle but was later brought down in the box for a foul and penalty opportunity.

Aiden Rosales with calm, struck the pk sending the score to 1-1.

Altamont wasted no time and continued to drive the ball nearly missing all its attempts.

The game ended in a 1-1 tie sending the Indians to a record of 10-5-3. The Indians will now see action Monday as they travel to Charleston.

At Robinson

Effingham St. Anthony ran into a tough Robinson squad and fell by a 7-0 count Tuesday.

“We played hard and through a lot of injuries,” said St. Anthony Coach Martin Reyes.

The junior varsity squad fell 2-1. The lone goal for the Bulldogs was by Rucker Harris, a freshman.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis played host to Olney, Richland County and fell to the visitors by a 2-1 count Tuesday.

In the first half, Gus Niemerg scored for the Wooden Shoes with an assist by Gavin Pals at the 29:08 mark.

In the second half, the Shoes scored on its own goal at 38:42. Olney then pushed that to 2-1 with a goal at the 32:09 mark.

T-town had eight shots, four on goal. Isaiah Lee had three keeper saves.
