Judy Gordon, 80, of Mason, died at 11:13 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2026 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2026 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Moccasin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 until service time. Memorials may be made to HSHS Foundation St. Anthony’s Parkinson’s Disease Support or the donor’s choice.

Judy Kay Gordon was born Saturday, June 29, 1946, to John and June (Hoffman) Felice in Woodstock, IL. She married Bob Gordon August 3, 1968 in Melrose Park. She grew up in Melrose Park, an Italian neighborhood, with her grandparents and aunts and uncles next door. She graduated from Proviso East High School in 1964 and from Greenville College in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a beloved teacher to many students in the Beecher City, Brownstown, Altamont Lutheran, and Stewardson-Strasburg communities. She often prayed on her way to school to be able to touch the life of a child. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Altamont, where she taught Sunday School.

She is survived by: her husband of over 58 years of marriage, Bob Gordon of Mason; son, Tim (Karen) Gordon of Alexandria, Va; daughter, Sue (Andrew) Harnish of Altamont; grandsons, Walter Gordon, Aidan Heiser, and Vance Heiser; and sister-in-law, Joyce Shadwell of Joliet.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
