A Teutopolis resident arrested in December for alleged sexual offenses has been given a total of 28 years in prison.
35-year-old Jeffrey Esker was arrested on counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, under age 13. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Once out of prison, Esker will be on three years to life of mandatory supervised release. He also pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, each resulting in a five-year term, but to be served together, and possession of child pornography. The result of the sentencing is terms of 10 years, five years, five years, four years, and four years, for a total of 28 years in prison.
The Effingham County State’s Attorney’s Office assisted the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
