The Effingham County Board Monday approved various proclamations.
Board Chairman Josh Douthit recognized Angie Moeller and 4-Her Jackie Tabbert as National 4-H Week is set for October 4-10.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs and Illinois Federation of Women’s Clubs were on hand to recognize Angeled Kids on West Jefferson in Effingham.

The Board also proclaimed National Disability Employment Awareness Month. They also got an update from Community Support Systems. Pete Niccum of CSS and client Ino Mapes talked about the agency’s work with Ino and others. Ino, who graduated from Effingham High School in 2026, was a happy man as he had that day begun a job with Walmart.

Also Monday, the County Board approved $2,000 to the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce for Trades, Skills and Manufacturing Day. The Board also approved $15,000 in economic growth and development funding for membership dues in the Effingham Regional Growth Alliance.
The Board approved $6,269 in crack sealing and striping work to the east parking lot of the Courthouse Museum, and appointed Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum to a new term on the Ambulance Oversight Committee.
