Teutopolis village board members have approved an intragovernmental agreement with the Teutopolis Unit 50 school board concerning Tax Increment Financing funds.
The village board agreed to give the school district $75,000 for three years, then to increase the amount another $50,000 every three years. The amount is not to exceed 15% of the total village TIF revenue.
The school board will vote on the agreement at their October meeting.
The village board also voted to approve a redevelopment agreement with the Teutopolis Park District. The village will contribute $10,000 toward the cost of paving the parking lot at the village park.
The Board discussed, but took no action, on possible street names in the third TIF district being considered on the west edge of the village and south across the CSX Railroad tracks. Also approved was a $2/hour pay increase for Tyler Henkelman, and the abatement of the levy for the 2026 tax year for the water line to Newton.
The Board amended the village ordinance governing recover homes and recovery residences, and set Trick or Treat in Teutopolis for Friday, October 30 from 6-8pm.
