Effingham Park Board commissioners reviewed plans for new restroom facilities.
New restrooms are planned at Hendelmeyer Park, relocated from the south side of the park to an area nearer to the front softball field and the pickleball courts.
The new facilities will be similar to the restrooms the City plans to build at Community Park.
The designs were tabled for further review at the Board’s October meeting.
Park District Director Jeff Althoff also reviewed with the Board what the District has done with the $750,000 bonded for annually.
The Board also heard from the auditor that the District is getting caught up on two years of past due audits. The 2024 audit has been completed and shows that the books are in good standing. Work has now begun on the 2025 audit and it should be completed by the end of the year. Then, work will begin on the new year, with the books to be current.
