Charges have now been filed against 36-year-old Joshua Hutson of Teutopolis, alleging grooming as well as child pornography.
Effingham City Police arrested Hutson Sunday afternoon following an investigation into online communications involving an individual believed to be under 17 years of age. During the investigation, Hutson was located in Effingham and taken into custody at that time.
In court Tuesday, it was determined that Hutson believed he was contacting a 13-year-old and soliciting her to perform sexual acts and grooming her. Hutson was ordered to remain in custody as his case proceeds. He will next appear in court October 8.
