CARLYLE — North Clay High School competed at the Carlyle Volleyball Tournament Saturday and finished second.
The Cardinals defeated Marissa, 25-21, 11-25, 15-11 and won over Patoka, 25-22, 23-25, 15-8. North Clay then downed Flora, 25-14, 25-17. The Cardinals lost to Carlyle 25-11, 25-12 before coming back to beat Lebanon 25-12, 25-10.
In a Friday match, North Clay lost to Neoga. The Cardinals won 25-23 but Neoga came back with 25-21, 25-19 scores for the match win.
In junior varsity play, North Clay was a winner 25-16, 25-21. Neoga won the freshman/sophomore match, 25-23, 25-18.
North Clay is now 6-9 on the season and returns to action Thursday against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
At Patoka
South Central defeated Patoka in two sets Friday.
The Cougars won 25-15, 25-22 and improved to 7-2 on the season.
South Central also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-14, 25-16 and is now 4-2.
