Effingham St. Anthony moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead and went on for a 4-1 victory over Altamont in a high school baseball game heard on KJ Country 102.3 Friday.
Altamont pulled within 2-1 in the third inning. St. Anthony then pushed across two more runs in the seventh.
The Bulldogs finished with nine hits led by C. Tingley and B. Verdeyen with two singles each. J. Gannaway, C. Dorris and B. McDonald tallied a single and an RBI each.
Dorris went five innings giving up one run on one hit. He struck out nine and walked four.
Altamont had two hits, singles by K. Davis and B. Berg.

At Neoga
All five runs for both teams were scored in the first two innings and Neoga edged Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 3-2 Friday.
Both teams scored a single run in the opening inning before CHBC went ahead 2-1 in the top of the second. But Neoga came back with two runs in the bottom of the frame and held on for the victory.
Neoga finished with four hits and was aided by two CHBC errors and seven walks.
The Indians’ G. Ballinger had a double and an RBI while C. Hakman had a single and an RBI.
The Bobcats had six hits led by C. Vaughn with a single and double, I. Wells with a double and L. Roadarmel with a single and an RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg banged out 11 hits and blanked Brownstown/St. Elmo, 9-0 Friday.
The Hatchets moved ahead 2-0 in the opening inning then scored single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings around four in the fourth.
Brownstown/St. Elmo dropped to 6-5 on the season.

Neoga tallied a 9-7 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Saturday.
WSS edged ahead 4-3 in the third inning but Neoga came back to move ahead 8-5 in the bottom of the fourth then tacked on a final run in the fifth.
Neoga finished with seven hits led by C. Hakman with a single, double and two RBI, M. Coy with a triple and three RBI and B. Sparrow with two singles and an RBI.
Windsor/Stew-Stras had nine hits led by G. McCray with a single, home run and two RBI, M. Manhart with a single, triple and an RBI, N. Pruemer with a double and two RBI and W. Wetherell with a double and an RBI.

Woodlawn tallied three runs in the third and two in the second then held off Brownstown/St. Elmo for a 5-4 victory Saturday.
BSE scored all four of its runs in the top of the sixth. BSE had eight hits led by Logan Lach with a double, Nolan Wilhour with two singles and an RBI, Dodge Willms with two singles and Gavin Schnarre with a single and an RBI.
Brownstown/St.Elmo is 6-6 on the season and returns to action Tuesday against North Clay.
