Effingham County Highway Department will be performing surface treatments on Monday September 14, 2026 (weather dependent) at the following locations:
- 1000th Street (CH 17), from 1600th Ave (Moccasin Rd) south to 1500th Ave (North Shore Dr)
- The roadway will be reduced to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic during this work
- Work will begin at roughly 8:30 am and will take roughly an hour to complete
- 1000th Street (CH 6), from 1600th Ave (Moccasin Rd) North to Rt 32/33
- The roadway will be reduced to one lane, with south bound traffic using the road only.
- North bound traffic will be directed down 1600th Ave to Nazarene Rd.
- Work will begin once the south Section is completed (assume work to begin about 9:30 am and last about an hour)
- Evergreen Ave (CH 10), from Outer Belt West to Nazarene Road
- This road will be closed to traffic while work is being completed.
- Anticipated road closure to be from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm
Please note there may be some wait times during these operations, so please plan accordingly and allow for some extra time when traveling these roads. Pavement markings will not be present for about a week and roads may be dusty, so please use extra caution when traveling these roads.
