South Central ended Effingham Sacred Heart’s season in the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Softball Regional Tuesday.
South Central ran out to a 10-0 opening inning lead and ended this game in the third inning by a 15-0 count.
S. Webster tossed a no-hitter. She did not allow a walk and struck out nine.
V. Skibinski had a triple and an RBI while E. Burdine had a double. R. Parker finished with a single and drove in three runs. L. Garrett and E. Williams had a single and two RBI each.
Effingham St. Anthony was a winner over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 9-3 in the second contest. The Bullpups moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead and tallied six in the fourth and one in the sixth.
The Bullpups had five hits led by K. Richards and I. McDonald with single and two RBI each. E. Bierman added a single and an RBI and E. Fearday had an RBI.
E. Fearday tossed a two-hitter with 16 strikeouts. She allowed seven walks.
South Central and St. Anthony will now meet at 4:30 p.m. today, weather permitting.
In other games, St. Elmo/Brownstown trounced Sigel St. Michael, 14-2 while Neoga blanked Ramsey 15-0 in game four

Class 1A Dieterich Regional
Oblong opened the Dieterich Regional with a 16-8 victory over Hutsonville.
The next game went to West Salem, which blanked North Clay, 12-0.
Dieterich won over Martinsville, 10-6. The two teams were tied at 2-2 after two innings before the Bluestreaks moved ahead 6-2 in the top of the third.
Dieterich came back with three runs in the fourth and then took the lead and the victory with five in the fifth.
K. Mellendorf led the way with a single, double and five RBI while A. Purcell had a double and two RBI. A. Koester added a double and T. Garcia had two singles.
E. Bruns picked up the win on the mound. She went all seven innings, giving up six runs on nine hits, walking one and striking out three.
Oblong meets Albion at 4:30 p.m. Thursday while Dieterich and West Salem square off at 6:30 p.m.

Class 2A Lawrenceville Parkview Regional
Marshall was a 9-6 winner over Lawrenceville Parkview in the opening game of the Parkview Regional.
In the second contest, Red Hill (Bridgeport) defeated Paris, 16-9.
Marshall now meets Jasper County at 4 p.m. today while Casey-Westfield takes on Red Hill at 6 p.m., weather permitting.
Class 2A Teutopolis Regional
Sullivan was to play Arthur Tuesday, but no score was reported.
Class 3A Effingham Regional
Mattoon was a 13-9 winner over Robinson Nuttall.
Mattoon will now meet Tolono Unity at 4 p.m. today while Effingham takes on Monticello at 5:30, weather permitting.
