St. Anthony Wins Boys, Girls Golf Meets

Effingham St. Anthony captured a three-team boys golf meet Tuesday at Eagle Creek Golf Course.

St. Anthony won with a 146 followed by Tuscola 169 and Shelbyville 197.

The Bulldogs’ Trenton Sandschafer was medalist for the event with a 34. Also scoring were Briggs Whitley 37, Cole Adams 37 and Grayson Bloemer 38. Non-counters were Daniel Ramos 43 and Andrew Meyer 43.

Scoring for Tuscola were Lawson Kurtz 41, Nixon Steinert 42, Evan Englehardt 43 and Lane McCall 43. Non-counters were Brix Smith 43 and Severin Steinhert 46.

Scoring for Shelbyville were Ephram Wood 40, Crew Lockart 45, Jaden Miller 52 and Tyler Gilman 60. Non-counters were Brady Clark 61 and Karson Bruns 65.

At St. Anthony

In a triangular girls meet at Foreway Golf Course, Effingham St. Anthony came out the winner with 110 followed by Effingham 135 and Mount Zion 146.

Medalist was St. Anthony’s Brooklyn Phillips with a 35. Also scoring were Gianna Frisbie 37 and Adria Moberly 38. Non-counters were Lucy Bierman 45, Tenley Sams 47 and Liz Kuhns 51.

Scoring for Effingham were Allison Kroenlein 41, Gieah Schlanser 45 and Emily Lowe 49. Non-counters were Kennedy Tolliver 58 and Sophia Niebrugge 60.

Mount Zion was led by Julia Daniels 45, Tatum Gray 50 and Macy Hittmeier 51.

At Vandalia

Vandalia claimed a 159-166 victory over Effingham in boys action Tuesday.

Effingham’s Jude Traub was medalist with a 34. Also scoring were Leo Wyckoff 38, Owen Nuxoll 46 and Carter Braddy 48. Non-counters were Eli Wendling 56 and Elliott Braddy 63.

At Charleston

In a junior varsity boys match, Teutopolis Blue and Teutopolis Yellow tied with a 178 while Charleston had a 211 Tuesday.

T-town Blue won due to a fifth score tiebreaker. Scoring were  Gavin Althoff 43, Drew Kirby 44, Evan Probst 45, Luke Ziegler 46 and Karson Zerrusen and Tommy Habing 49 each.

Competing for Teutopolis Yellow were Landon Huber 42, Mason Thompson 44, Kale Goeckner 45, Xavier Schumacher 47, Sam Probst 61 and Blake Vahling 66.
