Effingham St. Anthony’s Aubrey Denning captured first place at the Chrisman Cow Chip Girls Cross Country Meet Saturday.
Denning crossed the finish line well ahead of the competition with a time of 18:29.03.
Uni High won the team championship with 45 points followed by Unity with 60. Other teams competing included Marantha Christian Academy, Monticello, Oakwood/Salt Fork, Robinson, St. Joe, Marshall, Chrisman/Georgetown Ridgefarm, Paxton/Buckley/Loda, Fisher, Armstrong, Westville, Schlarman, Argenta-Oreana, Paris, Prairie Central, St. Joseph-Ogden, Oakland and Villa Grove.
Also competing for the Bulldogs were Emeline Wines 11th in 21:41.44, Taylor Denning 56th in 29:06.31 and Elizabeth Kreke 65th in 34:39.17.
In the boys meet, Monticello was the team champion with 100 points followed by Paris 108, St. Joseph-Ogden 114, Parkway South 199, Unity 218, Uni High 238, Chrisman-Georgetown 291 and Marshall 328.
Other teams competing were Prairie Central, Robinson, Villa Grove, Westville, Schlarman, Academy, Iroquois West, Oakwood/Salt Fork, Paxbon/Buckley/Loda, Fisher, Armstrong, Heritage, Marantha Christian Academy, Oakwood and Judah Christian.
Competing for St. Anthony were Isaac Tays who finished 16th in 17:47.50, Camden Bloemer 19th in 17:57.99, Max Schuette 25th in 18:14.56, Elijah Whittier 34th in 18:39.93, Brady Rivas 92nd in 23:44.63 and Henry Gannaway 96th in 25:46.60.
