The Effingham County Emergency Telephone System Board heard more about a mobile PSAP.
The Board is considering a mobile PSAP to be utilized in case the regular PSAPs would not be available in an emergency.
911 System Administrator Tina Daniels has contacted a representative of a mobile PSAP company, Patrick Voight, who is currently traveling abroad. Voight will meet with the Mobile PSAP committee when he returns.
Daniels also reported that the State has assigned the Effingham County PSAPs to work on how to deal with people with a mental health crisis.
There was also clarification regarding the RapidWarn/Radio console tornado siren activation project. The RapidWarn system and the Motorola radio console both use the National Fire Radio for activation. Daniels said that if that radio goes down, 911 would be unable to activate the tornado sirens or page the local fire departments.
The automatic updates had gone down. The automatic updates have been disabled and, since mid-July, have not gone down.
Global Technical Systems and 911 have been discussing weather sirens. 911 proposed that Global Technical needs to add RapidWarn to a city computer that is on the 911 network so the City can remotely activate the tornado sirens.
911 Treasurer Jake Buhnerkempe reported that a CD from Land of Lincoln matures on September 17. County Treasurer Deb Ruholl is obtaining bids so the CD will be on the September agenda.
