Newton pounded Casey-Westfield 42-14 in high school football action Friday.
The Eagles edged out to a 7-0 opening quarter lead and led 14-7 at halftime. Newton then had a 28-7 second half.
Hayden Mulvey connected on 11 of 26 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns.
Receiving for a touchdown were Eli Wolf with two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown, Maddox Horner with one for two yards and a score and Quincy Fulton with eight receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Newton’s defense was led by Grayson Lingafelter with three solo tackles and five assists. Wyatt Ochs, Harrison Kincade, Owen Ulm and Hayden Burnell had two solo tackles and an assist each. Lingafelter finished with eight total.
