THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SCORES

The Chicago Cubs salvaged a split of their four-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers, beating the Brewers 2-1. Kevin Gausman gave up a solo homer in seven innings of work, striking out nine.

The Cubs got a two-run homer from Pete Crow-Armstrong to post the win. The homer was Crow-Armstrong’s 39th of the season.

Teoscar Hernandez belted a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning to power the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Quinn Mathews allowed just one run in his five-inning start for the Redbirds. Riley O’Brien gave up the game-winning hit.

Houston downed the Chicago White Sox 6-2 Thursday night.

Luis Castillo, the Sox starter, allowed all six runs to the Astros.
