A Wednesday afternoon fire engulfed a block of downtown Du Quoin.
The fire was reported at 1:30pm. Three businesses were destroyed on Main Street and Chestnut Street. The businesses are Croessman Wholesale, BJ’s Garden Restaurant and Home Lumber Company.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the fire. More than a dozen fire companies helped put out the fire.
