Sherry Jo (Parker) Crouse, age 78, of Arcola, Illinois, passed away at 10:46 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2026, after a short stay at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Sherry was born November 8, 1947, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Howard Roe and Geneva Pauline (Stark) Parker. She graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1965. Following high school, Sherry attended Eastern Illinois University at Charleston and graduated with a degree in elementary education.
Sherry was united in marriage to Ray Crouse on June 27, 1970, at the Newton Christian Church in Newton, Illinois. Ray and Sherry moved to Arcola, where Sherry taught first grade that school year. Sherry later worked a few years as a legal secretary. However, most of her working years were as the water billing clerk for the City of Arcola, where she enjoyed serving the community until her retirement in 2008.
Sherry was a member of the First Christian Church in Arcola, Illinois. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of being home and spending time with family.

Husband of 56 years – Ray Crouse of Arcola, Illinois
Children – Amy Jo (Andy) Adams of Troy, Illinois and Steven (Linea) Crouse of Le Roy, Illinois
Grandchildren – Jordyn Crouse, Andrew Adams and Anna Adams
Brother – Dan Parker of Makanda, Illinois
Sister-in-law – Pat Williams of Martinsville, Illinois
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will be held with the burial at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Sherry, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Arcola, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.
