RAMSEY — South Central High School opened its volleyball season Tuesday with a three-set win over Ramsey.
The Cougars won 25-18 but Ramsey came back with a 25-23 win. The Cougars then took the match 25-17.
Annie Ruholl led the winners in digs with 12. Sophie Wodtka had 11 assists. Mya Schaal led in kills with 12 and blocks with two. River Yingst had 10 assists.
The Cougars fell in the junior varsity match, 25-19, 20-25, 15-12.
South Central returns to action Thursday playing host to St. Anthony.

At Martinsville
St. Elmo/Brownstown took on Martinsville and claimed a two set win Tuesday in Egyptian Illini Conference action. The Eagles won in the first set, 25-22 and claimed the match in the second set, 25-20.
Leading the winners were Addison Koonce with six digs and 12 assists, Peyton Barker with seven kills, Izzy Orr with two aces and Chloe Austin with two blocks.
The Eagles will host Vandalia Thursday in their home opener.
At Martinsville
St. Elmo/Brownstown — M. Neoga captured victories over Okaw Valley in Tuesday evening action.
Neoga won the varsity match, 25-21, 25-16.
In the junior varsity contest, Neoga won 25-23, 25-7.
At Altamont
Lawrenceville came calling and claimed a 25-14, 25-20 victory over Altamont Tuesday.
Laila Hankins led the Indians in kills with nine and blocks with two. Adilyn Schnaare had 17 assists. Keely Fleeharty led in digs with three.

North Clay fell to Robinson in high school volleyball action Tuesday, 25-21, 25-23.
The Cardinals were winners in the junior varsity match, 25-23, 25-13. But they lost in the freshman/sophomore contest, 25-23, 13-11.
North Clay’s next match is Thursday against Cumberland at 6 p.m.
