Lorena Joy Sallee, 61, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, in her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Tim Yankee officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery, near Herrick, IL with military rites by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL.

Lorena was born on October 10, 1964, in Pana, IL, the daughter of Larry E. and Norma L. (Cook) Sallee. She graduated from Cowden-Herrick High School in the Class of 1982 and Leeward Community College in Hawaii. In her youth, Lorena enjoyed playing the guitar and was a talented basketball player. Lorena served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1986-1989 and was stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of her honorable discharge. She then worked for Foley-Switzer Motors in Marion, IL, as an auto tech and service advisor for five years. Lorena was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL.

She is survived by her mother, Norma Sallee of Cowden, IL; sisters, Rita Sallee of Murphysboro, IL, Reta Yoder, of Cowden, IL, and Lorna Saner (Mike) of St. Roberts, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
