 Effingham County Tax Bills in the Mail Today

The 2025 real estate tax bills due and payable in 2026 are being mailed today, August 21, by the Effingham County Treasurer’s Office. County Treasurer Deb Ruholl said the due date for the first installment is Friday, September 25th and the second installment is Friday, November 6th.

Payment options are as follows:
 Paid at most of the banks in the county
 Payment mailed to the Treasurer’s Office
 Paid in person at the Treasurer’s Office
 Paid online at effinghamcountyil.gov/treasurer.

A credit card convenience fee will be added for payments made with a credit/debit card or e-check.

Effingham County Treasurer’s Office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The total number of bills mailed is 26,113. The total amount of taxes extended for all taxing districts for the 2025 payable in 2026 tax year is $75,055,025.28.
